Requirements
Cape Mentelle Vineyard is proud to be one of Margaret River’s ‘founding’ wineries. Our winery has pioneered many of the region’s renowned wine styles and today is a benchmark for the quality of the region’s wines. We aim to produce wines that capture a unique sense of place in every bottle. These characteristics are defined by our pristine coastal location, unique soils and 50 years of viticultural history.
Each year, Cape Mentelle builds a team of exceptionally skilled Cellar Hands from various backgrounds to bring their dedication and knowledge to support us with the year’s harvest. We provide comprehensive training, a social amp; and collaborative work structure and broad work tasks to allow you to immerse yourself and build an intimate understanding of vineyard processes. You will have direct access to our viticulturists and ability to build your professional networks with staff from around the world.
During the harvest period, you may be required to work shifts of up to 12 hours in length and up to 6 days per week.
During the season, our Cellar Hands are responsible for all winery harvest duties including grape receival and processing, rackings and transfers, filtration, red and white fermentation management and barrel work.
For this role, we expect you to have a minimum of 2 vintage winery/laboratory experiences as well as completed qualification in Oenology or equivalent.
