Requirements
The Senior Software Engineer role is responsible for the implementation of new features and improvements to the Awayco platform, as well as maintenance of the existing codebase.
The role will work collaboratively with all members of the Product Team which includes both Design and Engineering. The role will report to Technical Delivery Manager..
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of engineers and designers to deliver new features and improvements to the Awayco platform,
- Collaborate on solution design with an emphasis on decisions relating to the data model, business logic, and published API,
- Produce code inline with the solution design, and the Awayco coding standards,
- Participate in code reviews of fellow team-members,
- Create unit tests for delivered code,
- Document implementations at a feature and code level,
- Be committed to the Awayco software development process and its continual improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline,
- 5+ Years of experience in software development,
- 3+ Years of experience implementing scalable architectures across a range of projects,
- Expert knowledge of Node/JavaScript and TypeScript,
- Expert knowledge of relational data models and SQL,
- Expert knowledge of quality coding patterns,
- Experience implementing APIs,
- Experience implementing mirco-service architectures,
- Experience using cloud platforms (AWS desirable),
- Experience integrating with 3rd Party APIs via RPC, REST, and GraphQL.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code systems (Terraform desirable),
- Experience with Git version control,
- Be comfortable working within an Agile development environment,
- Have an interest in best practise and continual improvement.
