Job Description

Human Made is delivering a game-changing Digital Experience Platform, built on our decade of experience in creating outstanding websites built on the WordPress technology, and we need a dynamic entrepreneurial Account Director to join our APAC team. This is a commercial role and you will drive revenue growth across our Platform SaaS and Professional Services service.

We have clients in this region in Singapore, Australia, and Japan, and your job will be to deliver the best volume from these relationships, for us and our clients, and to grow the portfolio in size and value.

We are seeking someone who can hit the ground running, someone who fully understands how software development agencies deliver value to large to enterprise-sized businesses, and can support the sales process in the creation of written proposals, and pitches delivered in person and remotely.

You’ll be

  • A great client communicator, maintaining through formal and informal channels a comprehensive picture of the strategic needs and tactical issues.
  • Able to work seamlessly with a globally distributed team providing project management and development services, as well as SaaS product support and development.
  • Confident to drive account sales yourself, hitting growth targets for both professional services and platform revenue, collaborating closely with both technical and non-technical colleagues to meet client needs.

The Account Director - APAC is responsible for the health and growth of a regional portfolio of clients. Your performance is measured against the retention of clients, the growth of revenue, and will be tracked against client satisfaction.

You will work alongside Project Managers to plan and manage the professional services delivery process, with Account Executives to drive new sales opportunities to grow our business in the region, and with our product team to ensure the delivery of our SaaS product (Accelerate) to our clients, and support our partners in delivering outstanding solutions built upon our Platform (Altis).

Human Made is a remote company, which means that as Account Director you must be adept at communicating in a clear and timely way with colleagues and clients across all regions, using real-time and asynchronous text, and voice and video communications tools, software development support tools such as repositories and issue management tools, intranet blogging platforms, and email.

Requirements

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both internally and most importantly, with clients and relevant stakeholders.
  • In-depth practical understanding of the business cultures across the region, especially those in Japan, Singapore, and Australia.
  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence and being comfortable making decisions based upon partial information, leaning upon good intuition and judgment, and be able to bring a team along with you.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, and data collation and analysis.
  • Diplomacy when approaching the sometimes competing needs of the client and the project team.
  • Outstanding asynchronous and remote communications skills including comprehensive note-taking, summarisation, and issue management.
  • You will have or develop a strong understanding of the processes and technologies associated with custom software development in a professional services context.
    • Delivery methodologies including Scrum and Kanban, and a sound understanding of the Agile principles associated with them, and how they apply to the sales and account management domain.
    • Content Management Systems in general and how they fit into web and cross-platform publishing systems at enterprise scale.
    • Security and privacy

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of leading relationships with enterprise clients in a project or account management capacity
  • Background in technology professional services and/ or SaaS product sector.
  • Experience and/or knowledge working with:
    • An agile framework and/or with agile management principles
    • A distributed team, geographically distributed and communicating across a variety of synchronous and asynchronous channels
    • A professional services agency context, delivering to clients under a range of contractual arrangements.
  • Familiarity with the drafting and negotiation of contracts for the delivery of Saas products and software development services.
  • Experience and broad understanding of multiple verticals would be a plus
