THE ROLE
We’re looking for an experienced Product Development Manager Hardware to join our rapidly expanding hardware technology team who is excited about defining, refining, implementing and maintaining product offerings for our global markets and will play a key role in us becoming the leading global provider of e-bikes for commercial use. This is a challenging role which will require a structured and collaborative way of working and that you take on hands-own ownership. The role is ideal for a product development manager, product manager or commercially oriented project manager experienced with physical products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the Director of Products to scope and define product offerings both internally and externally focused
- Conduct qualitative customer research and extract key insights to inform product definition
- Ideate and conceptualise product offerings in collaboration with business stakeholders and engineers
- Contribute to creation of business cases and prioritise product offerings and features to inform the product roadmap
- Define project plans including deliverables, schedule, risk management and status reporting
- Hands-on lead the implementation of new product offerings from concept to prototype and manufacturing stage
- Build best practice examples and processes for hardware product and project management
- Reports to the Director of Product Hardware
Requirements
- Strong initiative and ability to drive a process of product definition and development in a start-up environment
- Experience with management of cross functional teams (design, electrical, mechanical, firmware, manufacturing)
- Experience with formulating customer insights and definition of technical requirements
- Experience with testing product offerings amp; features with customers by using quantitative and qualitative tools
- Experience in working with external suppliers, preferably in Asia
- Strong work ethic, high attention to details and commitment to achieving results
- Ability to collaborate with people from a variety of different backgrounds across the business
- Ability to work across time zones (Europe, US, Australia)
- Minimum 5+ years experience in product or project management or a related field
- Bachelor’s Degree
