The role:
ClickView is a fast-growing company in the video streaming space. We make video learning easy by building innovative tools, systems and services to provide the education sector with an intuitive platform to view and share high quality videos.
You will be joining a passionate engineering team with a culture of best practice and pride in our work. We are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our fast-moving Product Team that ships code to production many times a week and collaborate with some very talented engineers.
We’ve built a fully cloud, best-of-breed (near) real-time data solution on top of AWS services and Snowflake with a Looker frontend. We stream millions of events from our product and services that are shaped, hydrated and stored in our data lake. We are looking for someone to take ownership of our platform and data and to make it useful to our Product Teams.
This role resides within the Product Team which means there is no expectation to spend time in cross-departmental meetings and interface with internal stakeholders, leaving you with more time for big projects and deep work.
Who you are
You're a smart, personable and friendly Data Engineer who communicates in a clear and concise manner. You live and breathe best-practice engineering and are passionate about learning new technologies. You are comfortable working with data warehouses and are proficient in managing large volumes of structured and unstructured data. You have experience with ETL, data ware-housing, visualisation with an interest in making data accessible and democratising access to information.
You will have end-to-end responsibility for data projects and work to enable our engineering teams by making data useful.
Requirements:
- Solid experience working in data engineering or software engineering
- Experience with cloud Data Warehousing (Snowflake) and Data Lake experience
- A strong understanding of ELT/ETL processes and data architecture
- Experience with data structures and query languages in relational DBs such as MySQL and MSSQL Server.
- A passion for data and analytics
- Understanding of statistical models with
- Ability to clearly visualise data with knowledge of BI tools (we use Looker)
- Ability to maintain data infrastructure, data pipelines and ensure data integrity
- Ability to communicate ideas, processes and practices clearly
