Job Description

The Role

This exciting opportunity involves preparing and conducting RPAS mapping and planting operations in compliance with CASR Part 101 regulations. You will be working as part of world-class team on a mission to restore the natural world, using and participating in the development of cutting-edge technology, flying powered lift and multirotor aircraft up to 50kg in remote and challenging environments.

Principal Duties:

  • Working closely with the Flight Operations Manager in the organisation and delivery of projects as part of a small team.
  • Flight planning, meteorology, system preparation and airspace management in compliance with CASA regulations, client requirements, and company protocol.
  • Operating RPAS in high safety environments, including mine sites.
  • Working with the engineering team to coordinate maintenance work, and the development of new systems.
  • Post operations management, including data handover and flight documentation.

Requirements

A successful candidate will have the following:

  • Current RePL and AROC licences, with experience operating RPAS in a commercial environment.
  • Strong site management skills with a positive attitude towards safety.
  • Ability to build high performing relationships with all stakeholders, both internally, and on a customer site.
  • Experience with aerial surveys and photogrammetry.
  • Excellent attention to detail, high levels of organisation, and ability to communicate effectively as part of a remote team.
  • Enthusiastic attitude, and a willingness and ability to learn new skills quickly.
  • Ability to pass mine site medicals, and manually handle heavy equipment and seed bags.
  • Ability to deploy to remote customer sites, intermittently and for extended periods (up to 2 weeks).
  • Right to work in Australia.

Preferred skills and experience

  • Powered Lift lt;7kg and Multirotor lt;25kg, experience with medium class RPA highly regarded.
  • Experience in ecology, forestry, agriculture, mining, or landscape restoration.
  • Knowledge and/or coursework that relates to surveying.
