About the Role

As an Associate Account Manager you’ll be part of a team representing Datacom to a select range of key customers, promoting our product and service offerings. You will be a key point of contact for customers asking for product solution advice, placing sales orders and managing the dispatch of products and services sold. You will partner with our Business Development Team and our vendors to provide support in the response to tenders, bids and quotes. Your strong relationship with customers will enable you to identify new sales leads and progress them to close, or escalate more complex opportunities to a Business Development Manager. Key to success is your ability to be responsive to our customers and delivering a differentiated level of service.

The Associate Account Manager role is responsible for maximising revenue from one or a small number of client accounts in order to achieve agreed targets. This role is required to ensure complete customer satisfaction when dealing with the allocated customer.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with the customer to determine their present and future needs
  • Identify new sales leads and progress them to close or escalate complex opportunities to a Business Development Manager
  • Process sales orders and arrange the dispatch of products or services sold.
  • Receive inbound customer sales enquiries and provide quotations, product/service information, support and pricing details in response to inbound enquiries.
  • Promote the features and benefits of our products and services.
  • Maintain the customer database.
  • Maintain sales statistics and records of sales performance.
  • Provide support for the production of tenders, bids and other sales related documents.
  • Conduct product demonstrations (where applicable)
  • Form strong relationships with our key product and services vendors
  • Become a subject matter expert for end-user computing devices
  • Receive, handle or escalate customer complaints related to the sale of our products/services.
  • Be part of an effective team that works collaboratively toward achieving the organisation’s goals.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to build a culture of service excellence.
  • Displays a high level of operational discipline, ensuring Datacom and client processes, policies and procedures are followed and adhered to.
  • Put safety above all else, be aware of and apply roles and responsibilities in accordance with health and safety legislation. Take responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others including your own fitness for work.
  • Promote a positive culture within the team

What you’ll Bring

We are looking for someone with around 2-3 years experience within the ICT sector. You will ultimately possess the following skills and attributes -

  • Understanding of Account Management techniques and disciplines.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a wide variety of stakeholders.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of the Outsourced IT services market and Infrastructure project requirements.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Proven sales and negotiating skills with the aptitude to ensure win/win situations for all parties.
  • Ability to understand and translate client needs into a complete solution, coupled with the ability to balance the needs of the organisation
