Job Description

Location: Remote (work from home), Australia

Annual Salary: AUD 25 per hour (as a self-employed contractor you will be responsible for your own tax)

Contract: 15 hours per week, 6 months fixed-term (with option to extend)

You’ll be responsible for helping to maintain and develop Twinkl’s thriving online community for primary teachers. Your time will be spent working on social media platforms, specifically Twitter and Pinterest, building meaningful relationships within our communities and engaging with these communities to facilitate a culture of celebration and support within the Australian teaching community. You will also be required to create simple engagement posts, reply to comments and grow our community following. You’ll be able to use your creativity to showcase our current Twinkl resources and products in inspirational ways to our followers.

Your weekly activity could include:

  • Responding and engaging with members of our social media channels
  • Sharing Twinkl resources and using your expertise to advise our followers
  • Developing and building relationships within our communities
  • Creating quick engagement posts and quick content
  • Reaching out to members in other groups and directing them back to our communities
  • Maintaining the social media groups
  • Spotting trends within the primary teacher Twitter and Pinterest community and beyond, and being able to respond/ pivot quickly to make the most of these trends.
  • Interacting with customers on social media platforms, being the voice of Twinkl and offering advice and support where needed
  • Building up the social media channels and increasing our following
  • Copywriting for social media feed posts
  • Scheduling content for publishing
  • Gathering insights from our community to share with your team

The Australian Social Media team for primary teachers is made up of a Marketing Team Leader and three Social Media Assistants (one of them will be you) who support and help our Australian primary teachers Twinkl community. We are a friendly and fun team who put innovation at the forefront of everything we do.

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team.
  • Have excellent spelling and grammar.
  • Be passionate about using social media to create strong and supportive communities.
  • Be able to work under own initiative with minimum supervision but also as part of a team
  • Be organised and adaptive, able to work to tight deadlines and manage your time effectively.
  • Be able to work collaboratively

You’ll be part of the Australian Social Media team, a fast-growing and dynamic team who focus on developing the Australian primary teachers’ market within Twinkl.

Requirements

We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:

  • A teaching degree or similar experience
  • You may have previous experience running social media channels for yourself or a small business.
  • Will to be flexible around working times. Being able to work half your working week during weekends and evenings. Hours can be agreed upon between you and your line manager to work office hours.
