About the role
Due to growth, the opportunity has arisen for a capable and commercial Financial Controller to join our scale-up global media business.
Reporting directly to the Founder/CEO, you will be responsible for the overall financial operations of the business including, not limited to;
- Collecting, interpreting, and reviewing financial information, and ensuring there are systems in place to accurately collect and store this information
- Preparation of monthly advisory board reporting pack
- Producing financial (management and statutory) reports and analysis related to budgets, account payables, cash flows, accounts payables, expenses, reconciliations and strategic initiatives with commentary.
- Reviewing, monitoring, and managing budgets in line with requirements of the stakeholders
- Provide business cases on strategic imperatives based on financial analysis
- Developing recommendations and strategies that work to minimise financial risk
- HR compliance management - contracts, payroll etc
- Drive systems and process improvement to enable data integrity, advanced analytics, speed and visualisation in providing insights
- Build and optimise commission calculations and implement tools to automate
- Workplace health and safety compliance, building compliance, insurances
- Assisting with scaling the company while maintaining a solid Pamp;L and creating a rulebook for scale
- Providing consistent insights, knowledge and data crunching to drive strategy to aid in making better strategic decisions
- Predicting future trends through analysis (financial, customer, expense etc)
- Reporting to management and stakeholders, providing advice how the company and future business decisions might be impacted
- All statutory and regulatory compliance - ATO, SRO, USA entity etc
Requirements
We are seeking a commercially astute finance professional with exceptional financial accounting/analysis skills and proven leadership experience. The role would be well suited to an aspirational Finance Leader with industry experience within a rapid growth, high performing business.
In order to be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, ideally CA or CPA
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar or senior finance position
- High degree of emotional intelligence and demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes
- Commitment to driving continuous improvement and assisting the CEO and leadership team to successfully maintain the business’s current growth trajectory
- Ability to interpret relevant legislation and regulations
- Strong experience with BI tools advantageous
