Project Resource Definition Geologist

Northern Star Resources has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Project Resource Definition Geologistat our world-class KCGM Operations. This opportunity is offered as residential in the Goldfields working a 8:6 roster - 11hr day just a few minutes from home, this position will see the successful candidate comply and assist with the on-site construction of geological models and, in conjunction with Northern Star (NSR) Principal Resource Geologist, generate JORC compliant Resource and Reserve block models for KCGM’s Fimiston and Mt Charlotte operations.
The Company

Production guidance is 1.6 million ounces in the current financial year, before climbing to 2 million ounces by FY27.

Requirements

Essential

• A tertiary qualification (minimum degree level) in geology.
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a geologist, with at least three (3) years in a mine geology environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in sampling, Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC), resource development and reconciliation.
• Experience with Contractor Management (analytical assay and drilling).
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Good listening and decision making skills.
• Experience in Leapfrog and / or Datamine.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Well-developed leadership skills.

• Ability to think strategically and commercially, approach solutions creatively and consider organisation-wide impacts.
• Current Unencumbered Western Australian C Class Drivers Licence.

Preferred

• Eight (8) years’ experience as a geologist.
• Open Pit experience in a hard rock environment
• Open Pit experience in gold
• Experience in Leapfrog
