Job Description
Fronditha Care is a longstanding Aged Care Provider committed to delivering services to Australian elders of a Cultural and Linguistic background. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Chef/Cook to join our thriving organisation at our Templestowe Residential Aged Care Facility on a Permanent Part Time basis (45 hours per fortnight) to assist in leading and managing the kitchen, with a focus on providing Greek cuisine.
Responsibilities of this role will include:
- Menu planning, ensuring the provision of nutritional, culturally relevant and well-presented food to residents.
- Establish and review menus and prepare foods of all types (keeping in mind the focus on Greek cuisine requirements and preferences of the residents).
- Supervise and coach cooks and the Food Services Team.
- Ensure Occupational Health and Safety requirements are met.
- Coordinate planning, budgeting and purchasing for all food and supplies.
- Assist management in the development of relevant policies and procedures.
- Conduct Food Service Team orientation, performance appraisals, audits and training needs.
Requirements
The successful applicant will have demonstrated prior experience working as a chef/cook in a commercial kitchen, ideally with a background in Greek cuisine, and qualifications in Hospitality (preferably an Advanced Diploma of Hospitality). You will be a self-motivated individual with exceptional time management skills and the ability to work under pressure. Excellent communication skills are essential as is your ability to think creatively.
