We are seeking an undergraduate nursing student, or registered nurse to care for a physically disabled young woman in her Randwick home. The successful applicant will join a small team that provides 24-hour care to the client, who suffers from chronic pain and lack of mobility. The role focuses on a mixture of personal care and administrative work. We are therefore seeking someone with administrative experience and/or an excellent academic background, e.g. an undergraduate nursing student with sufficient availabilities.
Duties will include:
- Personal care (bathing, dressing, continence-management)
- Medication monitoring and administration
- Household chores (cleaning, laundry, cooking)
- Administrative support (assistance with typing emails, creating Word and Excel documents, online shopping)
- Shopping amp; errands
Requirements
- Have advanced written and spoken English-language skills;
- Experienced/trained in assisting with personal hygiene;
- Mid-level administrative skills and familiarity with MS Office;
- Attention to detail, esp. in maintaining household hygiene and food safety
- Willing to obtain relevant training / certificates if these have not already been obtained (course cost to be covered by employer)
Hours of work:
- 8-hour shifts during either 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm or 10pm-6am
- 2-4 days per week
- We are particulary interested in applicants who wish to primarily work active nightshifts: 10pm-6am.
