The Role
Our Data and Analytics team is growing and we’re looking for a specialist Business Analyst who will help ensure that we’re delivering high value data solutions which are aligned with business needs. Day to day you’ll liaise with business and technical stakeholders to translate high-level business problems into actionable pieces of work.
We’re looking for someone who can resolve ambiguities and understand the needs of the business in order to deliver data driven solutions. You’ll support business intelligence, advanced analytics and data engineering teams, balancing the delivery of those items with operational support requests.
Key to your success is your ability to be adaptable and understand the need to adapt in a fast-paced environment that’s always changing. You will be a natural at helping to drive outcomes and be an expert communicator..
What you’ll be doing
Initially working on some exciting Data Analytics and Machine Learning projects including:
Our new Sydney Fulfillment Centre - predictive analytics, KPI’s, data integration, collaborating with various other technical teams
Internal business optimisation and process improvement - help us achieve our long term growth strategies by understanding the business needs and advising on the technical capabilities we have.
Although no two days will ever be the same a few expectations we’d have of you are:
- Own business analysis within the Data and Analytics team, in line with Catch's changing data landscape across business systems and applications.
- Ensure that we understand the capabilities and limitations of the data available to the Data amp; Analytics team.
- Analyse business processes in service of understanding how these processes affect the data generated by business systems and how data solutions can integrate into these processes.
- Use your existing toolbox to elicit functional requirements to deliver to our data and Machine learning teams to deliver new features and enhancements.
- Educate the business users on capabilities (Reports, Machine learning models, Data).
- Facilitate continuous improvement within the wider Data and Analytics team through various means, and growth opportunities.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience working as a business analyst in agile environments.
- Strong presentation and demonstrated stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A proactive mindset, hungry to engage with a sometimes ambiguous environment
- Experience working in ecommerce, retail, marketplace or supply chain businesses is preferred.
- Experience working with data science, data analytics or data engineering teams is preferred.
- Proficiency with SQL and basic data analysis techniques and familiarity with more advanced concepts such as statistical analysis and experimentation is preferred.
