Drill amp; Blast Coordinator

Northern Star Resources is seeking an experienced and dynamic Drill and Blast Coordinator to join the Mining Open Pits Department at the Fimiston Superpit operation.

Reporting to the Drill and Blast Superintendent, this position will coordinate the contract drilling and site blasting activities to meet the daily plan requirements and utilise the Quality Assurance (QA) Team to ensure quality standards are delivered. In addition to this, the Coordinator will also provide the leadership to the Open Pit drill and blast team whilst the Superintendent is rostered off.

This is an 8:6 residential roster, based in Kalgoorlie.

Requirements

Essential

• Minimum of ten (10) years supervising drill and blast in open pits mining.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by strategically thinking.
• Sound knowledge of the Mines Act and Regulations.
• Experience in performance management of team members, enhancing team self-esteem using ability to coach, mentor and influence others, having the ability to build a strong performing team.
• Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, cost management.
• High level of computer literacy.
• Must reside locally within the Goldfields region.
• Current unencumbered West Australian C Class Drivers Licence.

Preferred

• Formal leadership / management qualifications.
• Working knowledge of SHOTPlus and BLASTIQ software.
