Lyka is a Direct-to-Consumer, fresh dog food company. We deliver lightly cooked human-grade meals as a subscription service to dogs all over Australia. All of our nourishing dog food recipes are formulated by our own in-house vet who has over a decade of experience in the formulation of natural diets.
Our company began when our founder, Anna, went on a journey to improve her dog’s, Lyka, health. Anna started creating a homemade diet for Lyka and, in just a few weeks, Lyka had more energy, less tooth decay, and a healthier coat.
Since then, Team Lyka has grown to an ambitious and like-minded set of dog-lovers with a single shared goal: to serve our customers and their puppers with the best possible food on the planet. From improving digestive issues in puppers to bringing back the youthful energy in seniors, we’re getting closer to our mission every day.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Lyka is looking for a fantastic Ops Growth Manager to lead our operational expansion. This person will be responsible for the mid-term growth activities from an operations perspective. They will bring to life Lyka's new product lines and will enable us to reach new markets, scaling operations accordingly. Specifically, they will be responsible for:
- Collaboration with our CEO and vets team to enable their bold product portfolio vision from an operations perspective
- Selection of manufacturing technologies that can bring innovative products to the pet food market
- Make-or-buy decision making for selected product lines, and consequent selection of manufacturing partners
- Expansion of production capacity through new plants, incl. their design, development and commissioning
- Selection and management of suppliers, contractors, and partners to implement growth projects
- Develop exportation market channels and international partnerships
- Assess Mamp;A opportunities
Requirements
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Experience with Project Management
- Experience working for a top tier Management Consultancy company is highly desirable
- Deep understanding of financial analysis, project valuation and trade-off assessment
- Motivated, hard-working and career-driven
- Ability to influence multiple different parties, even when not in a position of power
- Strong verbal amp; written communication skills
- Drive to action -- implementing plans is what matters!
- Organised with great attention to detail
- Top of class Excel skills (SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, Alteryx also desirable)
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple growth projects in parallel
- Ability to multitask and take many different challenges head-on
- Resilient, high sense of ownership and comfortable with fast pace and ambiguity
- Must love dogs!
This is a full-time position based in our Alexandria office in Sydney, which will require eventual travel to oversee expansion projects (initially, interstate within Australia. Eventually, internationally).
