About the team and role
Canva’s People Team has a big mission to build the most effective and engaged company in the world! Our success is finding, growing and empowering the best engineers, designers, product managers, growth marketers and operators in the world. We're looking for an experienced benefits practitioner to join our team. You’ll be a champion of Canva’s values, working closely with others across the People team and the rest of Canva to navigate and solve problems, and develop and launch programs to support all Canvanauts to empower the world to design.
Total Rewards is a new team at Canva and we’re responsible for working on some of Canva’s most impactful operational goals. We’re currently small but mighty and are growing quickly to design and implement unique and innovative programs. Our focus is to understand the market and design and execute the right programs to boost Canva’s effectiveness and engagement. Our work will ensure Canvanauts feel supported and cared for while they’re empowering the world to design.

You’re an experienced professional who thinks strategically, but is also prepared to roll up your sleeves and get things done.What you'll do:

• Leads implementation for new programs or updates to existing programs from end to end including: analysis, stakeholder engagement, project management, communications, and change management
• Analyzes available data to drive targeted programmatic decisions; designs processes to collect data from new sources
• Analyzes cost of current programs and recommended changes; identifies multiple implementation options and recommends the best approach for Canva
• Leverages knowledge of market dynamics (using various data sources) to tie Canva’s jobs to the external market and annually review structures to manage salary and equity compensation
• Owns the execution of Canva’s compensation cycle from communication to leadership through execution of outcomes through HR Ops
• Crafts simple comms to share information and educate leadership and employees about complex topics
• Works with Specialty Leads and People Partners to enhance Canva’s job architecture and its governance
• Collaborates with Talent Acquisition to establish consistent hiring guidelines to enable a smooth partnership
• Stays on top of local regulations and ensures global compliance

What we're looking for:

• 5+ years experience in the Compensation field
• Blend of hands-on operational and design/strategy experience
• Strong data analysis and number crunching skills
• Proven ability to leverage data to craft compelling stories that inspire action
• Experience building programs from the ground up from design through implementation and ongoing execution
• Experience educating diverse stakeholders about various aspects of compensation program analysis and design
• Ability to build relationships across the company to define and work towards shared goals
• Experience setting up scalable systems to support a growing global workforce
• Ability to juggle a diverse range of priorities and quickly shift and hone focus
