Part of the Certane Group, Diversa Trustees Limited (DTL) and its related company CCSL Limited are both specialist Trustee companies focussing on superannuation funds in Australia, including retail master trusts, corporate funds, platform (wraps), Pooled Superannuation Trusts, Eligible Rollover Funds and insurance only funds.

Both companies have been in operation for many years and combined provide trustee services to approximately 24 APRA regulated superannuation funds with in excess of $8 billion of assets under management. The group holds significant market share amongst Extended Public Offer licensees, making it the largest EPO Licensee in Australia by number of funds.

About the Role:

The DTL and CCSL Compliance and Finance Team is the first line of defence in our framework and is responsible for the day-to-day implementation and embedding of the risk and compliance framework.. The Risk officer is responsible for supporting and assisting the local and Group GRC in developing, implementing, and embedding group governance, risk, and compliance frameworks. Some of the duties involved in the role include:

Strategic amp; Operational

  • Assist in the preparation of reports and papers to the board and contribute to the strategic planning process
  • Assist local and Group GRC in the preparation of the day-to-day correspondence with the regulators APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC, OAIC and ATO including preparation of questionnaire responses, licence applications, and other lodgements.
  • Prepare, under supervision, all periodic lodgements with ASIC and APRA in relation to the company financial reporting.

Governance Risk amp; Compliance

  • Assist local and Group GRC in performing risk and compliance monitoring and report all areas of non-compliance.
  • Review team related risks and mandated risks with the local and Group GRC teams to confirm compliance with and effectiveness of controls
  • Update and prepare and review the monthly compliance matrix with input and assistance from team members
  • Assist in preparation of board papers and arrange the Agenda and Minutes with the Company Secretary who will liaise, as required, with the Chairman.
  • Assist staff with completion of exception reports and review with the Compliance and Finance Manager and Group GRC
  • Input into the group Governance Risk and Compliance system as required
  • Assist with drafting and review DTL, CCSL and Group policies and procedures as needed
  • Attend to all statutory lodgements working closely with the Administration Manager
  • Support and assist local and Group GRC in maintenance of registers for each area of governance, risk, and compliance

Requirements

About You:

To be successful in this role the ideal candidate would possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in a business discipline with industry qualifications in risk management preferred
  • At least 2-3 years’ practical experience in financial services risk management
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects
  • Highly adaptable and open to change
  • Strong risk management process knowledge
  • Strong Relationship management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
