To collaborate on the innovation, extension, and maintenance of a platform for the supply chain, logistics, and transportation industries. To make insanely complex systems appear simple and intuitive whilst being robust, secure, and maintainable.

• Deliver user interfaces for end-users that allow them to achieve business outcomes and build effective habits to accomplish their long term goals.
• Help to simplify existing implementations and improve overall system usability and stability.
• Work with customers and product teams to continuously innovate and add to the existing systems and services.

Deliver well engineered user interfaces that you are proud of and which others enjoy using.

• Work with domain experts to become one.
• Convert that expertise into intuitive, effective user interfaces.
• Work to make applications, libraries, and tooling that are a joy to inherit, maintain, and extend.

Create elegant solutions to extremely complex problems by working to make those complex systems and services appear simple and intuitive.

• Don’t get bogged down in perfection or analysis paralysis. Identify the definition of quality and deliver to that.
• Make the complex stuff private and provide simple and elegant interfaces to those complexities.
• Ensure everything is modular and reusable.

Build continuously deployable solutions and consistently adhere to chaos engineering principles.

• Be metrics driven.
• Automate tests.
• Code defensively.

Requirements

Motivation, curiosity, insight, engagement, determination.

• You have strong engineering skills and experience building a large-scale app in one or more component-based JavaScript libraries (Vue.js, React, etc.).
• You are comfortable working with modern JavaScript, HTML5/CSS3 and browser APIs to build performant, accessible interfaces.
• You have familiarity with tooling, infrastructure and operations in the front-end ecosystem.
• You have a pragmatic and efficient approach to engineering.
• You proactively seek domain specific knowledge and apply it to invent amazing solutions that make complex systems easy to interact with.
• You are calm, flexible, diligent, and can think big and deliver to the grand visions that you help to define.
• You love to be criticized and you view failure as an opportunity, but you are annoyed enough by it to fail in different ways going forward.
• You are respectful when you critique others, and are a respected mentor.

We are 100% remote at the moment. However, when the pandemic has a resolution we will re-open our office and return to flexible working. Pre-pandemic many of us spent one to three days a week remote with the other days in the office in front of whiteboards, hacking at our desks, and going out for lunch together.
