The performance of our arthroplasty components and global adoption of our Australian designed and manufactured technologies, along with some recent key local and international acquisitions is delivering rapid growth and opportunity.

Corin is developing a novel antimicrobial surface technology to fight infections and our Ramp;D Department are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Process Engineer on a full-time 12 month fixed-term contract. This position will be based out of our Sydney office.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting into the Senior Design Engineer within the Ramp;D department, this unique opportunity will see you combine process engineering academic qualifications with industrial and manufacturing experience. You will work alongside experienced engineers within the Engineering Teams as well as potentially interact with Researchers from academic institutions.

You will be required to assist in process engineering activities to support the Antimicrobial Nanosurface for Orthopaedic Implants Project, aimed at the set-up and operation of a laboratory space with a reactor, passivation process amp; cleaning process and a furnace which create unique antimicrobial surface features on orthopaedic implants. You will also:

  • Be responsible for setting up and operating in a laboratory space with a reactor, passivation amp; cleaning process and a furnace.
  • Design and manufacture of jigs and other equipment used in the process. Be responsible for manufacturing, cost analysis, assessing equipment purchases, writing operating procedures and process test plans in a quality environment, as well as conducting nanosurface chemical characterisation
  • Assist in process engineering activities to support the Antimicrobial Nanosurface for Orthopaedic Implants Project
  • Carry out design calculations
  • Review and update Process Flow Diagrams, Equipment amp; Instrumentation Diagrams and Process Descriptions
  • Create and update specifications
  • Conduct hazard and design reviews, and plant layout reviews while engaging with the implant production team

Requirements

What you’ll need to be successful

You will have a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field combined with 2+ years experience within a manufacturing/engineering environment as a process engineer. You will pride yourself on your ability to work collaboratively and independently in a cross-functional team environment. A positive attitude to change and a passion for innovation is essential.

You will also need to have the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge and experience working with a highly regulated industry. Experience working within the Medical Device Field and ISO13485 beneficial.
  • Experience in development and scale up of manufacturing processes, experience with passivation and cleaning processes preferable
  • Validation of production processes and equipment within the Medical Device Industry (IQ, OQ amp; PQ)
  • Sound knowledge and a demonstrated understanding of the principles of quality and GMP/GLP
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments of diverse scope and ability to exercise judgment within both novel and defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate actions
  • Experience in technology transfer from research into development amp; manufacturing
  • Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity, and collaboration with others
  • Ability to clearly communicate scientific information both written and oral
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities
