About the Role

As our Associate Account Manager you’ll represent Datacom to a broad range of customers, both Government and Corporate, promoting service offerings and developing new business opportunities. Key to success is your ability to be innovative and creative in ensuring targets are met or exceeded by selling Datacom service offerings including managed services, application development services, Cloud services and Infrastructure services and solutions.

The Associate Account Manager role is responsible for maximising revenue from one or a small number of client accounts in order to achieve agreed revenue targets and sales quotas. This role is required to ensure complete customer satisfaction when dealing with their allocated accounts.

What You'll Do

  • Formulate, implement and manage strategic business plans regarding one or a small number of client accounts to achieve sales revenue and sales quota targets.
  • Select, coordinate and manage staff to complete tasks associated with retaining designated accounts.
  • Work closely with clients to determine their present and future needs and proposing suitable products, services and upgrades in order to maintain and grow revenue for the organisation.
  • Act as the main interface between the client and the organisation to ensure an optimal level of service is provided at all times and continually seek the opportunity to participate in clients' strategic business planning processes.
  • Conduct product demonstrations (where applicable) and coordinating the preparation of sales proposals, tenders/bids, contracts and Account Management plans.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for someone with around 2-3 years Account Management experience within the ICT sector. You will ultimately possess the following skills and attributes -


  • Strong understanding of Account Management techniques and disciplines.
  • Specialised product and industry knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the Outsourced IT services market and Infrastructure project requirements.
  • Strong financial management practices with a clear understanding of the relationship between costs, utilisation and project revenue.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Proven sales and negotiating skills with the aptitude to ensure win/win situations for all parties.
  • Ability to understand and translate client needs into a complete solution, coupled with the ability to balance the needs of the organisation and the client
