In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager and the General Manager. You will also collaborate with our sourcing teams in Europe, and work directly with wineries amp; distributors across Australia in building and maintaining relationships to maximise access to in demand allocations.
You will be expected to operate out of Greater Adelaide, initially in a WFH capacity, with frequent travel to meet with industry stakeholders both with and independent of the General Manager.
Sourcing, negotiating, and onboarding
As our new Category Manager, you are situated amongst one of the world's most significant wine regions, with frequent travel to grow and maintain relationships with several wineries of all sizes.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- To take charge of our local sourcing efforts
- To negotiate with existing and new merchant/winery partners for offers
- Merchant amp; Winery acquisition - through internally leads and making contact directly
- To ensure smooth onboarding of new partners
- Relationship management
Your passion for Vivino and our way of business has to shine through whenever you interact with Wineries amp; Merchants. And you understand how to control and preach our narrative in market participation.
Passionate and flexible with a strong network within the wine industry
We are looking for you if you have a strong network and a good reputation within the industry.
You have the drive to work independently, travel, and be flexible in taking up offers to meet with winemakers, wineries, and other industry leaders on short notice. And you are known to get things done and understand what the community is after.
Furthermore, we hope to see that you have and can demonstrate:
- Deep knowledge and contacts within the wine industry locally
- Minimum five years experience in wine sourcing in Australia
- Experience in driving brand awareness within trade
- Extensive wine knowledge (minimum WSET 2 or similar level)
- A university degree is considered an advantage
