The Connect to Wellbeing Program is a Neami service located in Cairns, Townsville and Mackay in partnership with the NQPHN. The Clinical Lead will provide clinical oversight for and leadership of a multidisciplinary mental health team to inform and guide the delivery of high quality mental health intake, assessment and triage services for individuals in the region who experience mental health issues and are seeking support.

Core duties

  • Lead a team of clinicians who provide clinical assessments, risk assessments and care planning and facilitate access to appropriate clinical and community services
  • Provide guidance, service coordination, planning, implementation and problem solving as well as clinical supervision to the team
  • Play an active role in discipline knowledge sharing with your Neami colleagues and creating a reciprocal learning environment for staff


What will you bring to the role?

As a Clinical Lead, you will have a background and be registered in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing and/or Psychology, along with significant and proven experience in your field. Our ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the issues faced by individuals in the region including those identifying from a CALD or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background. Building partnerships with government and non-government health and welfare service providers is a large aspect of the role, so it is essential that you have the ability to form strong and lasting relationships with these providers. We are looking for someone who is willing to go the extra mile and participate in service evaluation to ensure that policies and procedures are helping us achieve the best outcome for our consumers.

Other skills essential skills and experiences we are looking for include:

  • Be a resilient and motivated leader and team member
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in successfully leading/coordinating a team of staff and working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team with the ability to inspire and facilitate team commitment and cooperation
  • Knowledge and experience in clinical practice frameworks and governance
  • Knowledge of local/regional services particularly relevant to wellbeing and health programs

  • Working with Children checks (are required before commencement of work - Blue Card with Yellow Card Exemption or Blue amp; Yellow Cards (employee responsibility)
