About the business
We are an operationally complex and capital intensive business with excellent commercial traction, primarily overseas. Designing small-format electric vehicles (e-cargo bikes amp; comparable emerging vehicle formats), contract manufacturing around the world, running teams to manage lease and maintenance operations in major cities globally. Customers range from individuals, all the way through to mammoth enterprises. The business grew 6x last year and is forecast to grow 10x this year.
The role
This Position
We’re looking for a Chief Product Officer who will architect and deliver our complex Ebike platform. That platform includes a complex technology stack including different vehicle form factors and embedded technologies, different customer segments, different regions and different software products.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will help us define the winning product strategy and build a product and technology organisation which can deliver. This role is for an experienced strategic and critical thinker who can solve problems and who can lead teams. We have a strong existing team who have successfully delivered against a core product. We are now looking to scale up our success across multiple products in new customer segments.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Product Vision: Articulate and drive the vision for the products in the markets.
- Product Org: Help us define the right organisational structure to deliver against our ambitious goals.
- Product Strategy: Work with the business to weigh up competing product priorities and determine which to pursue
- Product Process: Build feedback loops, customer research approaches, prioritisation matrices and professionalise our product systems for scale
- Technology Architecture and Roadmap: Partner with Engineering to design functionality that meets the needs of today and also sets us up for future growth.
- Coach, Mentor and Manage: Provide guidance and support to team members to work well as a successful product/tech team as well as with the rest of the business.
- Go to Market: Manage the successful commercial release and deployment with internal team members, partners and clients
Requirements
- Proven ability to build and lead product teams
- Understanding of hardware and embedded systems product development cycles
- Experience with consumer electronics, automotive, medical devices or similar industry
- End to end experience of hardware product ideation through to successful delivery
- Experience working across hardware engineering, software engineering, product, marketing and commercial teams
- Technically literate, able to communicate with engineers and data scientists, and work in an agile framework
- Comfortable in high level and the detail of doing
