Job Description

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity exists for an energetic, self-motivated and experienced Terminal Manager to join our Team Based at St Marys.

Reporting to the NSW State Depots amp; Rail Manager, this role will be responsible for leading an experienced operational team in a fast paced environment. You will have demonstrated and proven experience in driving continuous improvement, building strong internal and external relationships, as well as delivering the results that allow continued growth within our business.

ACFS is the largest privately owned container logistics operator in Australia.

ACFS sites are strategically positioned with close proximity to all major ports. These locations ensure that our operations have dynamic and efficient access to wharf terminals. We have dedicated sites in development for Western Sydney and Melbourne and a committed Go West strategy that will allow us to expand our operations. These sites will provide additional service benefits for our clientele across the geographic metropolitan areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement ongoing operational processes and practices
  • Implement initiatives to ensure cost containment, maximising profit and achieving budgets
  • Drive new customer partnerships and maintain existing customer relationships
  • Supervision of labour amp; equipment
  • Ensure the forklift fleet remains highly productive
  • Ensure the free flow of traffic entering and exiting depot
  • Ensure truck waiting times are minimised
  • Planning amp; allocation of tasks and supervision of their completion
  • Management of client container priorities
  • Stock management, inventory control and stock takes
  • Liaise with internal and external stake holders
  • Ensure smooth handover from night shift to day shift and vice versa
  • Ensure the facility is operated, maintained and secured in accordance with ACFS service standards and operating policies and procedures

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Minimum 2-3 years proven experience as a Depot / Terminal Manager
  • Ability to drive and achieve financial and operational targets
  • Strong communication (written and verbal)
  • Able to lead and develop a team
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated Leadership qualities with a "hands on" approach
  • Sound administration and organisational skills
  • Ability to understand and meet KPI requirements
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills
