About the Role

We’re growing our team and are looking for a Principal Consultant to join us and boost the growth of our Cybersecurity practice. You’ll help discover, shape, deliver amp; support Cybersecurity services in high touch engagements with the customer’s business personnel. You’ll ensure business users, stakeholders and the technical development teams are all on the same page.

This is a challenging and rewarding role to fully utilise your existing analysis, design, communication and leadership abilities. You’ll be comfortable in front of clients at all levels as you’ll be leading workshops, eliciting requirements, crafting solutions and articulating Cybersecurity concepts.

This role is ideal for a seasoned Senior or Principal Cybersecurity Consultant who is looking to get stuck into new and exciting projects, while also using their extensive knowledge across several Cybersecurity domains to lead, manage, create and deliver exceptional services for our clients across Australia.


What you’ll do

As Principal Consultant, you will be responsible for:

  • Input and leadership on the Service Portfolio for the national Cyber business
  • Input on the technology roadmap that underpins the services delivered and automates activities undertaken
  • Driving a security first approach across the organisation ensuring that security continues to be at the forefront or our services, our people, and our customers.
  • Engage at a senior level with customers who are consuming a range of cybersecurity services
  • Oversight and some delivery of high-value risk and security consulting outcomes, such as risk assessments, security plans and strategies, security policy and frameworks
  • Working across multiple client engagements and identify further consulting opportunities as a part of senior team of risk and security oriented consultants
  • Manage escalations from the Cyber and SOC teams for customers
  • Be the mentor, subject matter expert and problem solver for cybersecurity nationally
  • Liaising with customers, other Datacom business areas and any associated third-parties
  • Recommend, assess and utilise best practice, industry standard and regulatory requirements for information security, such as those prescribed by 27001, the NIST Cybersecurity framework and the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) as appropriate
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant security policies and standards
  • Ability to write reports, RFP responses, technical proposals, design documents (SAD, HLD, DD), and statements of work


What you’ll bring

  • Knowledge to a high degree of cybersecurity technologies and be able to converse with a diverse range of customer and company staff and be a thought leader in their field.
  • Working knowledge of security control frameworks including ISO27001, NIST 800-53, ACSC’s PSPF and supporting ISM, PCI-DSS and risk management frameworks;
  • Experience in leading and developing a team of professionals while mentoring emerging talent across the business
  • Significant experience in the Cybersecurity industry, in particular the provision of consulting services, solutions design, framework application, and risk assessment and management.
  • Experience in an organisation driven by service, delivery, and outcomes
  • Experience working with a wide range of customers, standards, technologies and architectures
  • Disciplined approach to governance
  • Experience in Service Management/ ITIL
  • CISSP, CCSP, CRISC, ISO 27k, or similar associated certifications.
  • Technical and/ or architectural professional qualifications
  • Experience in IT outsourcing or professional services organisations
  • 10+ years’ experience in a similar role/ Senior Technical capacity.
