About AirTree

Based in Sydney, we’re one of the largest and most active venture capital funds in Australia and New Zealand. If you join us, you’ll get to work with many of the most exciting startups in our region including Canva, Linktree, A Cloud Guru, Go1, Secure Code Warrior, Athena, Brighte, Qwilr, Joyous - and the list goes on!

We’re a down-to-earth team with a diverse set of backgrounds but the same passion: startups and technology. Our mission is to find and back the best Aussie and Kiwi founders and help them achieve their audacious visions. We are committed to building a world class VC platform in Australia. This is an opportunity to get involved early, help shape AirTree and make an impact on our region’s tech ecosystem.

We’ve written a lot about what we do at AirTree, check out our blog. Some key info: our Year in Review 2020 and our team bios.

About the role

You’ll work closely with our Head of Community to create truly valuable content, resources and programming that inspire and empower Aussie and Kiwi startups to succeed.

What you’ll do

You’ll work on a wide variety of communication and content initiatives whilst being immersed in the tech startup sector - the best sector to work in if you ask us!

You’ll be responsible for

  • Creating all forms of digital communication with a particular focus on written content. There’s lots of room to innovate here and we are counting on you to turn great ideas into reality.
  • Promote our comms across our own and our partners’ channels including the press, social media, EDM, website and startup community groups
  • Monthly results tracking and reporting
  • Logistical amp; administrative support as needed for AirTree community initiatives such as events and educational programs

About you

  • You can be from any degree background but you are passionate about using your communications skills to inspire audiences and communities
  • You have 3-5 years of experience in communications, PR, marketing, content creation or related roles where you engage a startup, SME or B2B audience.
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments where plans can change quickly
  • You take pride in getting things done regardless of constraints, you enjoy taking care of the little details, and you’re always up for learning new things.

Location, Flexibility amp; Support

AirTree is a flexible, supportive and family-friendly workplace.

This role is based in Sydney but we fully support our team to WFH.

We also offer 16 weeks of paid parental leave and have an Employee Assistance Program that offers free counselling support for our team and their immediate family members.

Diversity and inclusion

We celebrate and value diversity and we are committed to being inclusive in the way we hire and in the way our team works together.

We strongly encourage you to apply even if you are not sure you fit all of the criteria we’ve mentioned. All our roles involve a range of skill sets and we recognise that everyone has different strengths and experiences that can add lots of value to our team.

How to apply?

Submit your CV and cover letter via the APPLY button below.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a task, and we’ll select a smaller group for video/in-person interviews with the AirTree team.

We hope to finish the process by April and have you working with us as soon as possible after that.

We can’t wait to meet you!
