Job Description

In Mexico, a ‘fonda’ is a home that a family opens up to their local community as an unofficial restaurant. It’s this idea of everyone feeling welcome, relaxed and at home that really struck a chord with our founders, Tim and Dave.


Not only did we borrow the Fonda name, but the idea of a fonda was also the inspiration behind our brand tagline of Mi Casa Su Casa. This embodies how we treat our staff, like our family, and how we treat our customers, like guests in our own home.

So while Tim and Dave didn’t quite get the all clear to literally open their own homes up in the same way as the real ‘fondas’ of Mexico, it still sums up what we’re all about.

Your role within the team

We are looking for an exceptional customer care specialist to join our support office team, based in Cremorne. This role will be responsible for managing all inbound enquiries, end-to-end. These enquiries are extremely varied, but generally fall under one of the following categories: booking and event requests, customer feedback and miscellaneous enquiries (e.g.allergen guidance etc).

Given the varied nature of this role, we need a talented all-rounder who has the skill and expertise to flex between tasks with ease; one minute you might be spruiking the Fonda brand in response to an event booking enquiry, the next you might be managing feedback from a guest who hasn’t enjoyed their experience at Fonda. Whether it be over social media channels, email or via the phone - we’re after a disciplined team-member with a super friendly disposition to lead the transformation of Fonda’s inbound comms function, as we strive to set the brand up for national growth.

This role will report into our Marketing and Communications Manager.

What you will need


We look for people who have what it takes to make an impact; who can challenge us to go further while pushing themselves to help the Fonda brand to realise its potential. With this in mind, for this particular role we feel the below is required for candidates to succeed in this role:

  • Experience in community management/customer care and/or event sales/management.
  • A proven track record in committing to and delivering on service level agreements (e.g.responding to all inbound enquiries within 24 hours).
  • A proven track record in organising events and working with others to deliver an exceptional experience for customers.
  • Expertise in working across social media platforms (specifically Instagram and Facebook).
