Job Description

Full citizenship for all people living with mental health issues in Australian society


This new position, Executive Director Service Partnering and Support (EDSPS), will be a member of the Neami Group Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and will lead the functions often known as corporate services, which are being restructured at Neami into the Service Partnering and Support Network.

  • Flexible Location First 2-3 months of employment will be Melbourne-based


Reporting directly to the Neami Group CEO this newly created role will oversee a diverse group of professional teams that provide business partnering and support services to the organisation and will be accountable for a number of the key priority areas in our Strategic Directions. The successful candidate will be expected to strategically collaborate with other Executives to drive optimal business performance and support to our operational services.

The role will strategically lead the following areas (a) information management and information technology, (b) finance, (c) people capability amp; culture, (d) organisation-wide learning and development, (e) payroll, (f) diversity and inclusion (including monitoring progress on our Reconciliation Action Plan) and (g) internal change management amp; internal communications. The role will ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services using a partnership-oriented approach, to drive continuous improvement, excellent customer service and enable organisational transformation. The successful candidate will provide strategic, accurate and timely advice to the NGCEO, the Board and Board Committees on the wide range of operational accountabilities and strategic priorities.

Consistent with our flexible approach to work arrangements, the role does not need to be based in Melbourne. Should the successful candidate reside outside Melbourne, there is an expectation the first 2-3 months of employment will be Melbourne based. About you:

  • Contemporary and highly empathic people leader with a strong track record of building a positive and collaborative high-performing workplace culture.
  • Ability to identify and develop corporate strategies aimed at innovative business, operational and delivery improvement.
  • Strategic leadership and governance experience working successfully at senior levels and with executive team peers, staff and Boards.
  • Executive experience in a service-oriented organisation within a complex stakeholder environment, ideally with deep exposure to the mental health, human services or relevant sectors.
  • Have been a member of an Executive team and have reported to a CEO or equivalent within a medium to large geographically dispersed organisation
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen with experience and understanding of funding and revenue models in the mental health or similar sector and State and Commonwealth funding and commissioning models.
  • Builds trust; inspires and motivates; is able to harness the collective capability of staff and key stakeholders to work towards a common goal.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with well-developed EQ.
  • Demonstrates emotional resilience, compassion and understanding for the situation of others in society and the workplace.
  • Upholds ethical behaviour, consistent with Neami values as characterised by honesty, integrity, fairness, responsibility, and hope.
