Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Transport Planner to join our team. This position will be based in Gillman - SA and you will be working in the transport team reporting to the State Manager. The primary objective of the Transport Planner / Transport Allocator is to be responsible for the allocation and scheduling of all fleet, ensuring strict delivery deadlines are adhered to.


ACFS is the largest privately owned container logistics operator in Australia.

ACFS sites are strategically positioned with close proximity to all major ports. These locations ensure that our operations have dynamic and efficient access to wharf terminals.


Some of your position responsibilities will be to

  • Prioritise fleet workloads as per the company three pillar policy
  • Ensure the fleet operates efficiently at all times to minimise costs and time lost
  • Maintain service levels to clients
  • Ensure clients are kept informed of any delays

To be considered for this role you are required to have:

  • Experience in transport scheduling
  • Understanding of delivery methods
  • Understanding of capacity planning
  • Ability to manage and understanding service requirements
  • Prior experience with managing a fleet of trucks for container deliveries is necessary
  • Experience with container movements, collections from the wharf and delivery to client
  • Sound computer skills - Systems Maximas and Container Chain not essential, experience would however be desirable.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment
  • Due to the location of the office a car and drivers licence is necessary
