Job Description

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity exists for an energetic, self-motivated and experienced Regional DC Manager to join our Team Based at Eastern Creek.

Reporting to the State Manager, this senior leadership role will be pivotal to the success of our Western Sydney Warehousing Operation. With a combined footprint of 40,000sqm of Warehousing space you will be responsible for the management and success of 2 locations. You will have demonstrated and proven experience in driving continuous improvement, building strong internal and external relationships, as well as delivering the results that allow continued growth within our business.

ACFS is the largest privately owned container logistics operator in Australia.

ACFS sites are strategically positioned with close proximity to all major ports. These locations ensure that our operations have dynamic and efficient access to wharf terminals. We have dedicated sites in development for Western Sydney and Melbourne and a committed Go West strategy that will allow us to expand our operations. These sites will provide additional service benefits for our clientele across the geographic metropolitan areas.

Your key responsibilities would include but not be limited to:

  • Develop and implement ongoing operational processes and practices
  • Implement initiatives to ensure cost containment, maximising profit and achieving budgets
  • Drive new customer partnerships and maintain existing customer relationships
  • Ensure customer queries and complaints are resolved satisfactorily within a reasonable period
  • Maximise revenue opportunities by ensuring all services performed are billed out accurately and on time
  • Deliver productive outcomes through effective utilisation of warehousing resources
  • Effective management and planning of daily labour
  • Ensure the facility is operated, maintained and secured in accordance with ACFS service standards and operating policies and procedures
  • Control, monitor and audit Customs, AQIS, DG or any licensed products stored
  • Oversee yard operations ensuring service levels to the warehouse and yard customers are effectively managed.
  • Plan daily workloads / operations and oversee job allocation
  • Cost and prepare business cases for capital expenditure
  • Labour and other costs to revenue are managed within budgets

To be successful for the role you will possess:

  • Proven successful background in a warehouse leadership role.
  • Extensive 3PL warehousing experience on a large scale operation
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Ability to drive and achieve financial and operational targets
  • Experience and working knowledge of WMS
  • Strong communication (written and verbal)
  • Able to lead and develop a team
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
