Why we have this role @ Koala

Due to current and projected growth, Koala is looking to boost our fast-paced Finance function with a strong Group Financial Accountant. Reporting to the Director, Group Financial Control this role will be the owner of our global compliance framework, financial reporting, taxation and payroll.

Requirements

What key responsibilities does this role have @ Koala?

• Develop and maintain global compliance checklist and review the compliance program bi-annually
• Processing Koala AU monthly payroll and ownership of associated employee compliance obligations including payroll tax, superannuation, workers compensation and FBT
• Month-end responsibilities including recording group transactions, preparation of group management reports and external reporting
• Key involvement in annual audit, financial statement preparation and company tax lodgements
• Preparation and delivery of cash flow reporting
• Continuous improvement of processes within the ERP system (NetSuite)
• Completion and review of technical accounting papers
• Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes
• Participate in business improvement and process improvement projects

Ideal background

• CPA or CA qualified a must
• 5+ years’ experience in a previous financial accounting role with a strong understanding of general ledger functions, month-end/year-end close process, payroll, tax compliance, audit, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting etc
• First movers from Big 4/Mid Tier Audit background considered
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Ability to work autonomously and assist with the key deliverables
• Ability to influence key stakeholders to deliver commercial outcomes
• Excellent communication skills
• Successful experience in setting and meeting challenging deadlines under pressure
• Experience with Netsuite is a bonus
