Catch is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding occurring virtually due to COVID-19. All new Catch members, along with our current employees, are temporarily working remotely from home until it is safe to return to our offices.

What you’ll be doing
We are currently looking for an experienced Homewares Buyer to join our Head Office in Bentleigh East. Reporting to the Category Manager, you'll be responsible for using a strategic, collaborative and relationship-based approach to grow and drive the success of the department.
As a Buyer, you'll play an essential role in sourcing, selecting, buying and selling. You'll execute great buying opportunities with suppliers that yield optimal commercial outcomes for the business and continue to build our brand as the number one destination. Catch Buyers don’t just innovate but disrupt traditional ways of working to deliver excitement and value to our customers, each day.
The time is now to be part of the Catch team. No two days are alike, and we are embarking on remarkable growth. You could expect your typical day to include some of the following things:
- Strategically manage your category to maximise revenue and profit targets
- Work closely with the planning team to manage OTB, aged inventory, sales analysis and targets at brand level
- Manage range selection and order placement while building effective supplier relationships
- Set competitive, bold and data-driven pricing strategies
- Monitor industry trends and conducting competitor analysis
- Manage, mentor and develop team members.
- Owning performance targets/ metrics of team
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Home Buyer in either an online or traditional retail environment
- Experience across multiple sub-categories and have an established network of contacts
- In-depth knowledge of consumer preferences and behaviours in the category
- Strong commercial focus with excellent numerical ability and analytical skills
- Passion lots of it! Unwavering enthusiasm and a can-do attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Understanding and trust in data. Your decisions are creative and data-driven
- Collaboration. You work with your team to create awesome ideas and seek support when you need to
- Calm under pressure. You work to tight deadlines and remain calm and focused
