The TeamThe Get Up is Spotify’s flagship new, daily morning show - the first of its kind to blend the elements you love about morning drivetime FM-radio with a personalized music playlist. The show is co-hosted by Kat Lazo, Speedy Morman, and Xavier X Jernigan. Every weekday, the hosts, alongside a collaborative group of producers and technical directors, serve up news, pop culture, and unique takes on stories about entertainment, music, sports, culture, and everything in between.
The JobWe’re hiring a skilled, self-motivated Lead Producer for The Get Up, Spotify’s hit new daily, morning show. The Lead Producer will work collaboratively with the show team to produce strong segments on tight deadlines. They will lead the dayside shift for the show, supporting the Supervising Producer in all facets of production and team management. This involves show planning and scheduling, pitching ideas, booking, editing scripts, and working closely with the hosts. During tapings, they will act as a director, ensuring segments come together smoothly in support of the show and team. The ideal candidate has an interest and aptitude for growth as a team leader. In addition, the Lead Producer is someone who is comfortable working early morning hours on a fast-paced show, and is interested in all facets of daily show production. A sense of humor is also encouraged!
This is a full time contract position through October 2021.What You'll Do
  • Collaborate closely with the show’s Supervising Producer to maintain and uphold production standards.
  • Direct hosts during live-to-tape recordings, providing constructive feedback and notes in real time to hosts and show team.
  • Research and pitch segments, book guests, prepare and arrange recordings of pre-taped interviews on Riverside or on Zoom. Draft and edit scripts. Write and edit segments and promos in ProTools.
  • Prep hosts for daily recordings and pretapes (working alongside producers and engineers).
What You'll Bring
  • A minimum of four years of experience producing audio for radio or podcasts.
  • Demonstrated ability to pitch and execute segments for a daily show.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and multitask.
  • Strong writer and communicator.
  • Demonstrated passion for news and pop culture, whether in video, audio, and/or written content.
  • Ability to stay organized and effectively prioritize responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in creating assemblies in ProTools.
  • An eye for detail and self-direction.
