The Operations Management Associate (OMA) will have the opportunity to build specific skills, knowledge and attitudes that will enable you to transition to various roles within Home Chef. As an OMA, you will collaborate and build relationships with colleagues and internal customers who represent diverse work, culture, and resolution styles. The Operations Management Associate will gain experience with different functions during their time in role; however their primary responsibility is to support the Production Manager on the running of production and any necessary project work. This support will be the focus of growth into leadership and additional functions throughout the progression. Unique to this role will be cross shift coverage as needed on both 2nd and 3rd shift but the home shift will be 1st with a responsibility of up to 150 associates.Coaching Development:
  • Builds strong working relationships with all Shift Managers, supervisors and employees, and continually strives to help all levels grow and improve in their roles
  • Sets clear performance targets for Supervisors and discusses progress against plan on a daily basis
  • Helps to create a coaching culture by providing both positive and developmental feedback to shift managers, supervisors and employees
  • Helps develop effective people management skills of supervisors and leads
  • As necessary, resolves personnel problems by investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action while treating employees with respect through the process.
Production Planning:
  • Takes ownership of production plan for incoming shift
  • Sets daily shift-level production targets for labeling, portioning, meal bagging, and boxing
  • Continually learns from experience to improve production KPIs over time
Food Employee Safety:
  • Ensures all Home Chef GMP’s and operational guidelines are being followed and enforced
  • Follows and adheres to all safety protocols set forth by Home Chef including but not limited to: Lock out/Tag out procedure, instilling and ensuring a safe work environment, housekeeping in all areas, ensuring all employees are follow proper safety guidelines
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; ensures adherence to established policies and procedures
SOPs Audits:
  • Partners with Continuous Improvement (CI) team in development of new SOPs and modifications to existing SOPs
  • Knows and drives adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production, warehouse, and quality departments
  • Supports SOPs audit program as defined and conducted by the CI team
  • Owns all plant specific production SOPs and ensures documents are kept up to date in SOP database
Communication Leadership:

  • Drives strong communication across shifts and departments by ensuring huddles and daily communications are completed effectively

  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationship with plant manager and Home Chef leadership, across other departments (warehouse, maintenance, FSQA, HR, and procurement), and within production team
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies
