Job Description

Technical Lead
We are searching for a Technical Lead who can lead a team of software engineers in the delivery of software solutions. The Technical Lead ensures that engineers in their team understand the product and technical roadmap, and that the team has the skills and process to deliver them. Technical Leads find answers to questions with high impact on the team’s productivity.
This is a 100% remote role.

  • Guide a team in the design and delivery of application code within our Research, Design, Delivery and Evaluation framework
  • Planning and delivery of roadmap items
  • Take responsibility for quality of the team’s technical deliverables
  • Technical touch point for engineers in the team
  • Help to shape requirements in the product backlogs
  • Mentor and teach best practices, technologies and programming languages/frameworks
  • Collaborate with Principal Engineers to identify and scope technical priorities
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Product Managers to prioritise technical work in the product roadmaps and backlogs
  • Participate in/lead people development initiatives (Guilds, Lunch amp; Learns, Hackathons, engagement initiatives etc.)
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experience as an engineer in Node.js
  • Experienced using the latest in front end technologies like Vue.js, TypeScript, Webpack, GraphQL, Restful, Node.js, Angular.js and React.js.
  • Experience in coaching and developing engineering best practices
  • Experience in facilitating requirements and solution design
  • Complex problem solving skills and forward thinking to support and manage escalated technical challenges/issues
  • AWS experience with EC2, Kinesis, SQS, Elasticache, Lambda, S3, etc
  • Professional experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostGres/Oracle) and key/value store databases (DynamoDB, Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis)
  • Understanding code testability, build pipelines, docker and CI/CD systems
