Job Description

Software EngineerWe currently have a need for a Node.js Software Engineer to join our team on a contract or permanent basis remotely. In this role you will use your backend development experience to build and enhance our products - our projects vary between natively developing in our new cloud-based microservices architecture and others will involve migration.
Our expectation is that you love simplicity and code that just works, Google and StackOverflow are your go-tos and that you have a polyglot mindset with a desire to learn and use different technologies.

We are the world’s leading guest acquisition platform for hotels, supporting 35,000 hotels in 160 countries to generate more than 87 million reservations on our platform each year.As a Software Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Refine, design, and deliver product requirements
  • Work with a cross-functional team in an agile methodology
  • Participate in roadmap, release, and sprint planning
  • Write clean, well-organised code while making appropriate trade-offsbetween performance, robustness, extensibility
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experienced in multiple languages such as Node.js (mandatory) and Ruby (Desirable) to help us build backend solutions
  • Ideally knowledge of front end frameworks such as Vue.js or React.js
  • AWS experience across one or more of the following EC2, Kinesis, SQS,ElastiCache, Lambda, and S3
  • Competent with database technologies (e.g.RDMS such as MySQL,PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL like DynamoDB, Cassandra, MongoDB)
  • Understand code testability, build pipelines, Docker and CI/CD systems
  • Keep up with best practices, latest technologies and programminglanguages/frameworks as needed
  • Liaise and work with product, and other technology and delivery teams todeliver high quality software solutions
  • Ability to work on a user story from inception to production independentlywith a cross-functional mindset
