Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd (KCGM) is currently seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Planner - Heavy Mobile Equipment for the Open Pit Department at the Fimiston Superpit operation.

Responsible for leading an efficient team of planners, schedulers and reliability engineers within the Mobile Maintenance team, the Senior Planner will ensure all aspects of the mobile maintenance plan are achieved within budget and cost KPI’s. To ensure continuous improvement in alignment with KCGM longer term strategies, the Senior Planner will produce weekly/monthly reports on planning KPI’s and carry out GAP analysis.

This role is key to developing the maintenance strategy for all Open Pit fleet, including Cat 793 Haul trucks, Komatsu PC8000 dig units, multiple Ancillary units, and Light vehicles. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent, the Senior Planner will provide leadership through coaching, mentoring and developmental activities to members of the team driving a positive workplace culture that reflects KCGM’s Values.

This residential role is a 5 on 2 off then 4 on 3 off fortnightly day roster.

Requirements

Essential

  • Australian Trade Qualification or Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Maintenance Planning working in mining or heavy industry with strong working knowledge of CMMS to maintain maintenance strategies and budgets.
  • A strong understanding of Asset Management processes and practices in particular, Work Management, Defect Elimination, O4R, Metrics and Shut Management.
  • Experience using budgeting tools and solid knowledge whole life cycle cost modelling.
  • Previous experience in strategic planning for mobile equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box to deliver alternative outcomes.
  • Leadership and/or supervisory training. Exposure to performance management of team members using ability to coach, mentor and influence others in a positive manner.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills enabling liaison at all levels of the organization.
  • Reside locally within the Goldfields region, or willing to relocate.
  • National Police Clearance valid within the last twelve (12) months.
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian C Class Drivers License.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations
  • Familiar with using Pronto to develop maintenance strategies, work requests and purchase requisitions
  • Completed frontline leadership or recognised leadership courses
  • Hold a Cert 4 in training and assessing
