More about the role

This is a senior role within a small, highly remote team. The team works on building and maintaining a core product of Bigtincan. We are looking for an experienced engineer who wants to build new frontend features and systems, help identify the best migration paths for older codebases into React, mentor and teach fellow engineers, and be highly involved in the technical direction of frontend web development at Bigtincan.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to technical design decisions.
  • Create and maintain AngularJS components. Experience with React will also be highly advantageous.
  • Conduct code reviews of your peers’ work and provide constructive feedback
  • Contribute to codebase quality by writing unit and functional tests
  • Be part of a cross-functional scrum team and contribute towards end-to-end feature development i.e. design, QA, product management, line management and DevOps
  • Identify issues, Improve the product, and fix bugs as they are reported and assigned
  • Provide regular progress updates on development activities via SCRUM Agile practices
  • Mentor and assist less experienced engineers


What you'll need
  • At least 7 years of experience developing web applications in javascript
  • At least 3 years of experience using AngularJS
  • Experience with React is ideal
  • Strong skills using written and verbal communication to explain technology decisions and needs
  • An ability to identify gaps and issues in technical solutions
  • Ability and interest in mentoring other engineers
  • Experience with GIT as source control
  • Ability to working with remote team members using communication tools i.e. email, instant messaging, issue tracking, and video conferencing software
  • Experience working with REST APIs that expose JSON resources
