Datacom operates three 24x7 Security Operations Centres (SOC’s) in Wellington, Auckland, and Brisbane from where we provide our managed SIEM and our full stack of Cybersecurity services.

Our Security Operations Centre is a well-established team made up of Cybersecurity Analysts, Engineers, Devops Engineers and Incident Responders has been managing customers, both commercial and government, for over 5+ years. We are a matured operational team that not only responds to security incidents, events, and triggers, but a fully-fledged operational team that hunts for anomalous, suspicious, and potentially unwanted activities within our customers environments.

About the Role

The Cybersecurity DevOps Manager is a senior manager within the ANZ Security Operations Centre and is primarily responsible for managing the Cybersecurity Engineering function and team, and to ensure the Cybersecurity Engineering team operates effectively with its delivery aligned to?industry best practice.

Your team will build and operate large-scale systems to ensure security, high availability, and scalability within our platforms.

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for recruiting and hiring engineers including working with recruiting, technical leads, and other engineering leaders throughout the process
  • Anticipate and manage technology evolution and map to business solutions
  • Work with business stakeholders, Engineering leadership, and Architects to drive holistic technology implementation across product teams
  • Guiding and consulting on system options, risks, impacts, costs and benefits
  • Managing, configuring and taking responsibility for the combination of cloud-native services, physical servers, processes and platforms that support the creation, testing and deployment of in-house developed solutions
  • Manage a medium-sized team of technical resources, on and off-shore
  • Strong influencing and persuasive ability.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

What you’ll bring

  • Minimum of 10 Years in an IT technical role or similar
  • Familiarity with web/cloud related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
  • Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.
  • Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk).
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cybersecurity and privacy.
  • Knowledge of the enterprise information technology (IT) architectural concepts and patterns (e.g., baseline, validated design, and target architectures.)
  • Proven experience in Security Solution Design and Implementation
  • Experience in IT Service Management with a focus on security applications Experience in working with security tools such as: SIEM, anti-malware, endpoint security, URL and application control, IDS/IPS, email filtering
