Job Description

Content Adviser- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples related Content

Location: Remote, work from home (must be based in Australia)
Pay: AUD 25 per hour (as a self-employed contractor you will be responsible for your own tax)

Contract: 6 months fixed-term (with the possibility of an extension)

We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable specialist to create Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples related content! You will work closely with the Australian Product Owners and be the first point of contact for other Content Writers providing support and guidance in the development of cross-curricular content. You will be working on developing and creating new resources to address the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures cross-curriculum priority within the Australian Curriculum.

Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:

  • Develop creative and innovative resources which respond to customer needs and educational developments;
  • Consolidate and advise on the application of commonly accepted guidelines for your specialist subject;
  • Attend meetings with the wider production team;
  • Provide expertise, support and guidance after reviewing any new content created that relates to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples histories, cultures and communities;
  • Work directly with the Australian Country Manager and Product Owners to identify future product opportunities;

This role is varied and exciting. You will be working on different resources and be able to share your specialist knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples culture and history with the Australian Teaching Community. As part of the Product Development team, you will have close contact with other Content Writers and Editors as well as the Designers and Illustrators who will collaborate with you to bring your creations to life before they then appear on our Twinkl website.

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Have detailed knowledge of the Australian Curriculum;
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples teaching context;
  • Bring fresh ideas and insight into teaching Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students;
  • Be creative in your approach to lesson planning and writing of resources;
  • Have a passion for helping other teachers and students across Australia.

In this role, you will learn:

  • How to work as part of an Agile Scrum team;
  • How to use your specialist knowledge and experiences to create Twinkl approved resources for Australian educators.

You’ll work with:

  • Other Teachers, both Content Writers and Editors;
  • Australian Country Manager;
  • Australian Product Owners;
  • Marketing coordinators.
