Health amp; Safety Advisor

Due to rapid growth, THG is looking to relocate to a larger Distribution Centre (warehouse) in Victoria and we are recruiting a Health amp; Safety Advisor to support the team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
- Working with the operations team to ensure risk assessments are up to date
- Daily reporting of hazards and near misses
- Weekly and monthly reporting to central (global) H amp; S team
- Support with warehouse move in July/Aug
- Contractor management
- Develop project-specific health amp; safety strategies, programmes and plans.
- Pro-actively monitor and challenge standards to promote continual improvement.
- Provide guidance to the THG project team, and contractors, to implement effective safety methodologies on site
- Performing regular Health and Safety audits;
- Relaying findings back to the Health and Safety Manager and local management teams.
- Implement immediate corrective actions and overseeing all further preventative and corrective actions to eliminate root causes.
- Advise and support all colleagues of their statutory duties within their areas of responsibility.
- Assist with accident / incident investigation, root cause analysis and reporting for corrective actions.
- Raising health and safety purchase orders.
- Undertaking new risk assessments and reviewing current risk assessments
- Conducting and reviewing COSHH assessments.
- Assisting in the fire risk assessment process.
- Support in Hazmat guidance and measures
Requirements
- Good communication skills and the ability to influence change.
- Experience of managing and supporting a Health and Safety function.
- Good working knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations.
- Keen problem solver
- Adaptable
- Good IT skills
- Ability to work in standalone role and as part of a team
- NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum
- NEBOSH Diploma preferable
- Happy to support night shifts as and when required
