Job Description

Amazon is looking for an experienced and driven Category Manager to work within the third-party marketplace driving the growth of key Sellers and key initiatives for the Home & Leisure (OHL) category.

As Category Manager, you will be in charge of projects that contribute to long-term success, improving customer experience, supporting growth, while working with the top Seller accounts to help them grow their business on Amazon. Responsibilities include expanding our product selection, improving product availability, building strong relationships with key partners (both internally and externally) and driving improvements to the Amazon Australia store. This role will have a high degree of autonomy and will be able to influence across a broad range of projects including product launches across the business as well as responsibility for initiating and developing strong relationships with large, strategic Sellers.

Operating in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment the successful candidate will be required to work autonomously, taking responsibility for achieving business objectives. This role provides a real opportunity to develop original ideas, approaches and solutions in a competitive and ever changing business climate.


• Category strategy and ownership: Work closely with Leadership on planning and business strategy, drive best-in-class customer experience and maximize unit and revenues growth through timely analysis and action
• Business Development: You will work closely with Strategic Sellers, drive program adoption among them and add selection for the category
• Project management: Automate and scale the category level growth via new selection, product listing quality and instock opportunities via Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). Partner with technology teams to drive automation and scalability across the worldwide organization
• Customer Experience: Work within the category to identify customer pain points and create new or improved experiences for the customer
• Analyze industry and Amazon internal data to understand competitive landscape across multiple categories and identify customer trends
• Create business plans for new opportunities as well as develop/ execute project plans for the launch of new features, incorporating merchandising and pricing strategies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external parties, while meeting tight deadlines for high visibility projects
• Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability target

Job Specification

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· · Fluency in English

· Highly organized and results oriented.


· Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Engineering or related degree required

· 7+ years work experience

· Strong track record of success in managing and growing large accounts, product marketing or management consulting roles

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex concepts simply

· Ability to drive successful projects with a wide range of people at all decision-making levels.


· Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment

· Strong analytical skills (including advanced excel and database analysis)


· Proven project management skills, customer focused, extremely detail-oriented, and able to effectively prioritize and multi-task

· Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills

· A great deal of personal initiative and strong hands-on attitude along with creativeness, decisiveness and results-driven mentality for a business-focused way of thinking

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience with e-commerce or retail would be an advantage

· Ability to work with legal, product, and internal business owners to reach mutually beneficial agreements

· Strong business judgment, proven ability to influence others

· Experience using Salesforce.com or other CRM tool

· Knowledge of SQL
