About this team/role
The Finance Business Partnering team’s mission is to be trusted partners and co-pilots to Canva’s Groups, delivering financial insights and helping them achieve their goals. We are the bridge between central Finance and the wider business, with a focus on using Finance to drive growth, bring clarity and give an unbiased perspective.
Canva is looking for a Commercial Finance Lead, to lead and grow our Finance Business Partnering team. This is a highly visible role that will work closely with other team leads within Finance, and Finance Leadership.
You will have a passion for mentoring, empowering and developing people, helping the team members to set their own strategies and direction as they build out their sub teams.
You will have strong experience working in similar commercial finance roles, building and growing successful teams and operationalising activities, helping the team deliver on its regular cadences and driving goals and projects forward.
You will know how to operate and be successful in a high growth environment, and thrive on problem solving and dealing with ambiguity, willing to get your hands dirty when needed.
What you'll do:
- Leading, mentoring and developing a strong team of high performing Finance Business Partners, helping to bring an objective opinion and support where needed
- Owning the overall strategy and direction of the team, helping them to set goals and roadmaps and achieve them as they build out their own subteams, determining new hiring needs as the team continues to grow
- Working closely with other teams with Finance, including our FP&A and Strategy teams, helping to facilitate and coordinate existing and new cross cutting processes or initiatives, collaborating to achieve group wide goals
- Having a holistic lens across all FBP activities, identifying opportunities or insights to share with the wider group and senior leadership
- Working with our other offices including Manila and China to support Business Partnering in our global operations
What we're looking for:
- 10+ years experience, with a significant portion in similar/commercial roles
- Professional experience in a commercial environment is a must, with similar industry or high growth company experience being advantageous
- Demonstrated ability in building out and leading high performing teams and developing team capabilities
- Experience in financial planning & analysis and commercial business partnering
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- CA/CPA qualified or equivalent qualification;Advanced MS Excel and financial modelling skills
