The Team
At Canva, we’re all constantly striving towards our Crazy Big Goals! Since growing to a worldwide team of approaching 1,500 we need to ensure we’re working as effectively and efficiently as possible, which is where our team of dedicated Leadership Operations experts come in!
This team works extremely closely with specific members of Canva's leadership team, working to build solid foundations for our operational and administrative capability - steering Canva towards growth and success for years to come.
The Role
This role is part of the close-knit Leadership Operations team here at Canva, and will support the Head of People to reach new heights of productivity and efficiency.
Key to help drive the overall mission of the People team at Canva - Building the most effective and engaged company in the world, you will play a vital role in making sure that our People team (of nearly 100 amazing Canvanauts) have the operational support they need to succeed.
We move fast here at Canva, and this role will certainly keep you on your toes. We are looking for someone super-efficient, who loves nothing more than to anticipate issues before they arise and get stuff done. You’re who we want to be working with if you’re great at prioritising, juggling projects (and moving them rapidly along), and keeping calm under pressure.
What you'll do:
- Own all-things-admin end to end: You’ll be super-effective in managing calendars for groups and individuals, coordinating and facilitating meetings, defining objectives, purpose and agendas, tracking initiatives, and constantly iterating on this efficiency as Canva continues to grow.
- Proactively drive projects forward: With a bias for action, you will keep projects on track by coordinating and tracking timelines, milestones and statuses, escalating issues as needed. Able to work across big picture initiatives with the ability to break assignments down into manageable efforts and ensure they are able to be tracked and delivered on time.
- Help design and curate internal presentations and comms: We're regularly communicating internally on exciting updates that can be a little multi-layered. Working with the Head of People, we'd like to see you take on the design and communication side of this. Given the nature of what Canva does we naturally set a very high bar when it comes to the design and visuals!
- Promote operational excellence: You’re happy to roll up your sleeves with any task towards the bigger picture, no task is too small if it makes the team around you more effective
- Be a true people person: You love nothing more than to build relationships all around you, making people happy by organising celebrations and off-sites, ensuring everyone is empowered to do the best work of their life, and having the best time doing it.
What we're looking for:
- 4+ years of experience within Project Coordination, Operational or a similarly relevant role with a close alignment to People
- Experience prioritising, managing and tracking multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Keen presentation and great design skills
- Ability to communicate key ideas really simply and clearly with great design ready for 1,500 Canvanauts to see!
- A passion for all things Talent/HR/People!
- A real eye for detail and a strong desire to uphold high standards of excellence
- Truly self-motivated with a desire to constantly learn, develop and grow
- Integrity and trustworthiness with humility/willingness to question one’s own assumptions
- A bias for action, constantly striving to get things done. You have a strong sense of urgency when it comes to unblocking teams
- Strong communication skills when talking to creative and strategic ideas with your team
