The Team

The Finance team’s mission is to protect and serve Canva and its key stakeholders; that is protecting Canva from external pressures and risks whilst balancing the need to best serve our teams. The vision Is for Canva to be recognised and commended by its peers and stakeholders as having a world-class finance team.

The mission statement of the Planning & Reporting team is to be the guardians of the Canva 12 month rolling forecast and all financial reporting & associated processes. As the Canva business grows, there is an increasing need to provide stakeholders in the business with timely, accurate and granular data enabling agile decisions to be made as required.

Reporting to the FP&A Reporting Manager (located in Sydney HQ) this role will assist in the development and maintenance of financial information, analysis and specifically reporting across the business. The primary responsibility of the FP&A Analyst - Reporting will be to develop, review and implement reporting solutions that provide relevant, detailed insights to internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll have responsibility for:

  • Creation and maintenance of management dashboards and adhoc reports, decommissioning non-value add reporting and building and ensuring data integrity
  • Identify, analyse and monitor key metrics that drive the business
  • Understand complex business requirements with the ability to convert data into an interactive and meaningful visualisation
  • Assist in maintaining, enhancing and expanding a suite of automated reporting solutions (within Adaptive Insights) for stakeholders within the business
  • Collect, analyse, and document reporting requirements across all key business functions
  • Maintain a prioritised backlog of business report development, working with key stakeholders to prioritise, agree and manage expectations on key report development
  • Investigate and interrogate existing business data to find correlations, merge insights and build datasets for reporting
  • Strong self-management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with your multiple stakeholders.

What we're looking for:

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance with minimum CA or equivalent, or proven solid experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in Business Reporting delivery
  • Well demonstrated analysis and data visualisation development with experience in handling and analysing complex, high volume data with excellent attention to detail
  • Possess outstanding analytical skills
  • Ability to think beyond numbers and combine data with strategy and financial insight
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical analysis into compelling narratives
  • Detail-oriented, well organised and understand the importance of data integrity
  • Strong critical eye for detail

Also we'd love to see:

  • At least 3 years relevant professional experience, at least some of this in a commercial environment is a must
  • Hands on approach with a willingness to roll-up sleeves and work with team members
  • Ability to multitask, manage competing priorities, be proactive and able to deliver within agreed deadlines
