Job Description

As an Solutions Architect focused on data modernization within the Asia Pacific and Japan Public Sector Business at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will have the opportunity to help customers and partners implement modern data strategies on on the AWS platform. The broad responsibilities will include becoming a subject matter expert for modernizing customer’s data platforms, with a focus on Oracle technologies, to support partner and customer engagements.

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical skills with the Oracle platform (e.g. Oracle Applications, Fusion Middleware, Database) with the ability to learn Microsoft data technologies and other data related technologies. They will also have customer facing skills that will allow them to represent Amazon well. The ideal candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

Roles & Responsibilities:
As a key member of the Public Sector Customer Transformation Team you will accelerate a customer's realization of business benefits on AWS through the adoption of proven transformation patterns during their migration and modernization journey. You will be passionate about:
· Creating, articulating, and positioning an innovative and compelling value proposition so that customer executives clearly realize the benefits and transformation value of AWS
· Defining and executing technical migration/modernization strategies by working with highly technical teams within AWS (Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, Professional Services consultants and Managed services partners)
· Working with large scale network, compute and storage architectures to help remove roadblocks in customer migration projects
· Engaging with development, infrastructure, security and IT operations teams at the customer and identifying repeatable patterns and architectures for cloud migration
· Driving the co-development of new go-to-market approaches and opportunities with the Geo business lead.
· Identifying platform improvements, influencing future iterations of the AWS platform and the Migration Acceleration Program
· Engaging with C-level customer executives to inspire, define and execute on Enterprise cloud migration strategies demonstrating thought-leadership and a ‘can do’ approach to enterprise migrations, working backwards from customer needs
· Capture and share best-practice knowledge for deploying, running and managing Oracle solutions on AWS with the Oracle Developer, Oracle end user and AWS communities.

Job Specification

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· The right person will be highly technical and analytical, possess 7-15 years of implementation/consulting experience in the software or internet industries and demonstrate a strong understanding of Oracle applications, Fusion Middleware and Database.
· Strong knowledge of information security best practices
· Experience with data center networks and network topologies
· Experience with data analytics
· Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
· Technical degree required; Computer Science or Math background highly desired; working knowledge of software development practices and technologies highly desired.
· Broad knowledge of the entire Oracle platform stack
· Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed. Estimated 30% travel requirement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experienced architect for and/or managing Oracle Exadata environments
· Strong knowledge of information security best practices
· Expert software architecture skills and experience building complex software systems
· Relevant experience deploying enterprise applications and optimizing storage subsystems for Oracle DB
· Previous experience with Amazon Web Services and Oracle solutions on AWS a plus.
· Experience migrating from traditional on-premise operational and analytics environments to modern, cloud-native services
