Outback Spirit offers a range of unique adventure tours, desert safaris and luxury short stays across our beautiful country. Our adventures capture the very essence of Australia, from the rugged red cliffs of the Kimberley to the unspoiled natural wonder of Arnhem Land amp; Far North Queensland, we bring iconic experiences to life. We operate 10 lodges in some of the most remote, inaccessible and beautiful locations. Our team of guides, drivers, camp and operations staff are passionate about the outdoors and take pride in bringing our guests on the adventure of a lifetime.

The Role

We are currently seeking various levels of chefs in a range of locations to work at our remote lodges located in some of the most remote locations in Australia.

Our Chefs assist in the creation of amazing experiences by delivering exceptional meals to our guests and staff members.

If you are excited about food and providing exceptional service and thrive on a challenge then this is the position for you.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the daily running of all the kitchen requirements
  • Meet and where possible exceed guest expectations
  • Ensure food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques meet Food Safety guidelines and are maintained at that level
  • Work with the kitchen team and take corrective action where appropriate and within company guidelines if standards are not met
  • Ensure the highest possible standard of hygiene is practiced and maintained by all staff members to meet Health amp; Safety regulations and relative legislation
  • Cultivate a positive work environment where learning and personal development are benchmarks by which quality improvement is driven

Requirements

About You

  • Minimum 3-5 years for leadership positions
  • Minimum 2-4 years other positions
  • Advanced culinary knowledge and extensive cooking experience
  • Demonstrate excellent and respectful communication skills
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Able to cater for dietaries without compromising on taste
  • Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
  • Must hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
