About the role:

As we continue to grow and serve the community, we are seeking for new Outcomes Manager in our Community Connections services who share our values, is great with people, have lots of energy is flexible and resilient and enjoy the close relationships you can build with others.

Community Connections is a unique day program that connects people with people. With three services sites based in Lilydale and My Evelyn, we tailer programs and activities to people with a disability that are value-based, with the focus being on each person and the support they need to achieve their goals. We offer centre-based programs or 1:1 support arrangement with experience and passionate support staff. We assist people to develop a range of skills and support each person to make choices in their life and to have control over their decision making.

The position:

Service Quality is paramount at Melba Support Services and the Outcomes Manager role plays a critical role in high quality service delivery. The key objectives of this role are to:

  • Manage the overall operations of the Community Connections Service.
  • To lead the Community Connections leadership team and direct support staff in the provision of high -quality individualised supports.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that service level budgetary, and resource management objectives are reached and maintained.
  • Lead the strategic development of the Community Connections Service.
  • Ensure the individuals are supported to identify and pursue a broad range of social, educational, vocational, and recreational opportunities that bring meaning and value to their lives.
  • Represent Melba’s Community Connections service on required internal and external committees and community projects.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal policy and legislation relevant to the service and the people supported.
  • Continually develop the skills of the Community Connections Leadership team to ensure they match the changing requirements of service provision and align with service level process flows.

Our ideal candidate:

  • A track record and experience in effectively managing large teams of staff to perform their roles to a high standard.
  • An understanding of both physical and intellectual disabilities and other complex presentations.
  • An understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), Person Centred Active Support (PCAS) and person-centred practice.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Disability Act (2006) and the NDIS Act 2013.
  • An understanding of quality assurance and improvement systems.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal legislation relevant to the operation of services aimed at supporting people with a disability.
  • Demonstrated commitment to service excellence, human rights and zero tolerance to violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

You will also bring with you:

  • Melba Support Services compiles with the National Disability Insurance Scheme Worker Screening
  • Full unrestricted Drivers Licence.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Capacity to wear Personal Protective Equipment including mask, eye protection, gown and gloves at certain times when directed.
  • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster.
  • Current First Aid Certificate with CPR.
