About the role:
The Senior Financial Accountant position manages the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation, ensuring that it runs effectively and efficiently. This is a hands-on role, that involves managing financial systems, processes, administration, and internal controls to support the organisation's strategy. This role will see you maintain effective financial management and cultivate relationships with stakeholders, while also supporting project teams in implementing efficient financial practices.
Other responsibilities include:
- Prepare various financial reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, as well as management reports
- Generate ad-hoc corporate and management reports for shareholders, parent entities, and the board
- Complete ABS quarterly reports and month-end journals, including intercompany transactions and accruals
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and manage sub-ledgers and the general ledger
- Ensure adherence to financial controls, accounting standards, and policies, assisting in maintaining system integrity and compliance
- Collaborate with the Group Treasurer to accurately record bank debt, interest rate swaps, intercompany loans, and other transactions, implement and review internal controls, and support external audit processes when necessary.
About you:
This role would be suitable for a CA/CPA qualified candidate with sound commercial experience within a large Chartered and diverse corporate environment, ideally with Big 4 Audit or Business Service Experience.
- Proven experience in leading complex reporting processes for for-profit businesses, delivering results to multiple stakeholders within tight timeframes.
- Demonstrated ability at meeting clear deadlines and with exceptional organisational and planning skills.
- Advanced Excel skills with having skills in BDA and PowerBI advantageous.
Essential:
Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
