We are currently seeking an Overseer to support our cattle operations in the Fitzroy River region. Situated northwest of Rockhampton, near the township of Marlborough, Cerberus is an 8,200-hectare station running a combination of breeding and backgrounding cattle.
The ideal candidate(s) should possess a solid understanding of livestock management, along with a steadfast commitment to precision and safety, coupled with strong leadership abilities. Couples are encouraged to apply, as we also have a position available for a station hand.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the on farm Station Manager, you will be responsible for:
· Managing the farm during periods when the Station Manager is away.
· Collaborating with the Station Manager in the oversight of cattle management encompassing herd health, herd nutrition, mustering and animal husbandry tasks.
· Engaging in fencing and weed control activities.
· Undertaking general farm duties including repairs and maintenance.
· Supervising the implementation and embedding of safety processes and systems on farm.
· Contributing to a positive and productive working environment.
· Acting as a role model by demonstrating precise and safe work behaviours and reinforcing policies and procedures.
Requirements
To be successful in this position:
· You will have demonstratedstation experience, either as a Station Hand, Leading Hand or Overseer.
· You will be open minded, willing to learn and be prepared to adopt new and innovative management practices.
· You will have a proven track record operating machinery and have sound mechanical knowledge.
· Ideally you will be a proficient welder/fabricator and be a competent with fencing and yard building tasks.
· You will have strong people management skills.
· You will have good communication skills.
· You will hold a current manual driver’s licence (a heavy vehicle license would be desirable).
· You will be flexible, reliable, and available to work hours which may vary to meet operational demands (on occasions this will include Saturday and Sunday work)
· You will have a positive, can-do attitude.

· A competitive salary, from $75,000 p.a. (plus superannuation), dependent on your previous experience, skills, and qualifications.
